Alternate Leg ID: HB0108; T-1-08-BH

Area of Operations: Boston Harbor, Massachusetts, United States, North America, North Atlantic

Dates: January 07, 2008 to January 07, 2008

Objectives: Collect 6 sediment cores and bottom water from Hingham Bay, Station 8.

Type of Activity: Habitat Assessment

Information to be derived: Samples and Chemical Analysis

Summary: A surface marker was placed on the sampling site and served as a useful physical reference for deployment of the camera and sampling gear. A few minutes of video of the sea floor at Station 8 were collected to confirm the absence of biological mats or disturbance from anchor, lobster pots, etc. The bottom looked ideal for sampling. Six good cores were collected. Bottom water was also collected for TSS, oxygen, and for the erosion and incubation experiment.
