Summary: The base of operations was Babylon and Shirley, New York. Sparker electrode and hydrophone array were towed approximately 100 feet behind the boat with a separation of 8 ft. Navigation was accomplished by visual sights and dead-reckoning by the University of Maryland personnel. Lines were run perpendicular from as near shore as the skipper of the boat thought prudent out to a distance of approximately 4 miles from shore. Two additional lines were run parallel with shore in water depths of approximately 30 to 70 feet. Data from this survey were retained by the University of Maryland personnel. The quality of the geophysical data could be classified as being from fair to good. The data would have been of better quality if there had been less swell during the survey period.
