Summary for Field Activity Number 2009-054-FA

Alternate Leg ID: L-54-09-MA

Area of Operations: Plum Island Estuary, Rowley, Massachusetts, United States, North America, North Atlantic

Dates: July 10, 2009 to July 17, 2009

Objectives: Quantify greenhouse gas fluxes from salt marsh sediment, including their responses to nutrient additions through field measurements and manipulations.

Type of Activity: Sampling

Information to be derived: Samples and Chemical Analysis

Summary: Gas flux chambers were placed on the salt marsh surface, and fluxes were measured of nitrous oxide, methane and carbon dioxide. Variability with space and time was examined, and influence of nitrogen availability of sunlight was examined.
